Color Wheel

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Hello everyone,

While summerfall had to end at some point, it was quite a run of peak foliage, blue skies and perfect warm weather. We're in a good stretch of prime foliage still and have a few more weeks of tasty post-peak leftovers too. Often, the last trees produce the best colors, strongly accenting the muted tones of late autumn.

Frosty prelude.

Mountain activities are officially done for the season, but the Sugarbush Golf Club is open and so are the Valley trails.

Color wheel. Cyclone, recently rated one of the top ten trails in Vermont!

Our events run straight into winter too. Be sure to check out the free Paul Dunton Orchestra show on October 28th, benefitting our partners, Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports.

A peak peak peek.

As fall winds down, the fairest season is quickly winding up. Guess how long until the lifts are supposed to spin again? Less than forty days.

The snowmaking pond repairs are progressing well, thanks to the heroic efforts of the Mountain Ops team. Plus,we've invested in new high-efficiency snow guns, that will allow us to make more and better snow with less energy. It's a Win-win!

Solar gain.

Fern burn.

A rainbow of foliage.

The spectacular mushroom season continues.

Feeling good ...

Enjoy the fall splendours, but know that winter is coming fast in the mountains. Get your gear ready and other prep done now, you don't want to be scrambling at the last minute. Powder waits for no one. There's nothing like that first turn of the season.
