Past & Future

Sugarbush first opened for skiing on December 25, 1958. And while over 50 years have come and gone (and with them celebrities, chairlifts, gondolas, lodges and more), we still remain true to our Vermont roots. To this day there are still no stoplights or fast food restaurants in the Mad River Valley. The Lincoln Peak Village base area is built in the traditional Vermont vernacular and covered bridges and artisan shops are plentiful down in the Valley. Also, much of the food we eat and serve here is still grown, raised and produced locally.
