Title: Snowmaking Technicians
We are seeking Entry Level and Experienced Snowmakers for our upcoming Winter Season 2013-14!!! Sugarbush Snowmaking Technicians truly work as part of a comprehensive team. Their mission is to deliver the highest quality and most consistent manmade snow surface of any Eastern Resort. This physically demanding job includes regular lifting, pulling and carrying, while working outside in sometimes extreme weather conditions. Snowmaking shifts run 12 hours with a staggered schedule of 4 days on 3 days off, then 3 days on 4 days off the following week.
Will carefully and diligently work as part of a larger team per daily snow plan: transporting equipment, routing hoses, clearing guns sets and water valves, positioning/starting/stopping snow guns, and adjusting systems to maximize snow coverage and quality. Regularly communicate (often via radio) with team to monitor wind/weather, surface, and snowmaking systems in consideration of snowmaking efficiency and guest/employee safety. Develop and expand job knowledge including: trails, emergency identification and procedures, snowmaking operations and quality, safety details, mechanical troubleshooting, and guest service. Duties may include the safe operation of vehicles on designated routes.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with a high school education or equivalency degree. Must be physically able to move/operate equipment while working through a complete12-hour shift in all weather conditions. Ability to make well judged decisions, while accurately following verbal directions in compliance with established procedures/safety concerns is necessary. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and teammates. Experience with ATV/snowmobiles is preferable as is a basic mechanical aptitude. CPR/First Aid certification is highly desirable but not required. Timely and reliable attendance is essential.
